After three years on the Llano County ESD #5 Board of Commissioners, Sunrise Beach Village resident Andy Spencer has resigned to return to the private sector. A founding member of the Emergency Services District, Andy has served the last three years as Board Secretary. During his tenure on the Board, Andy helped oversee the transition of the ESD from a Volunteer Fire Department to a Texas Commission on Fire Protection recognized hybrid department. The hybrid department, the Sunrise Beach Fire Department, is staffed by both volunteer firefighters / medical first responders, and career Firefighter / EMT’s, ensuring 24/7 coverage in the District. He served on the Strategic Planning subcommittee, helping the department get equipment grants, new apparatus, and plan for the future. We sincerely hope he will stay in touch and come see us at the newly renovated Fire Station #1 in 2026.
