Crews and apparatus are back in Station 51starting this past weekend, following essential completion of the renovations. Six apparatus are parked in the bays, the day room and kitchen are operational, and part time career Firefighter / EMT’s are taking advantage of the comfort of the new dormitory. New recliners and other furniture are in place. Exercise equipment is available on the second floor to all personnel, volunteers and career staff. In the Gear Room, each volunteer has a locker with their name on it.  Some equipment such as video monitors in the training room / Emergency Operations Center are a still work in progress, as are some of the communications equipment in the Watch Office.  The parking lots still needs striping and designated handicap parking spaces. The next several weeks will be spent ensuring all features of the renovated station are operational.
