A break in the rainy weather on Tuesday, May 26^th, allowed crews to finish the upgrades to the parking lots and driveways at Fire Station 51. The concrete pads by the bay doors, sidewalks, curbing and driveways had been completed in the previous weeks but the rain had prevented the asphalt parking areas being completed. The sunny weather on Tuesday allowed the crews install the asphalt pavement.

Further tasks include landscaping the parking lots and driveway slopes as an erosion control measure, but that will be addressed in the coming weeks. Currently, Fire Department staff are moving furniture and equipment into the station. We will be operational at Station 51 not later than  May 31^st.
