Fire Station 51 Transitions to Exterior Work

Station 51 renovations have transitioned into the exterior flatwork – rebuilding the parking lots so they are drain properly and constructing concrete aprons and driveways that will support the weight of Rescue 51 and other large apparatus and align properly with Sunrise Drive. The primary framing and rebar installation was completed on 5/12/26. Concrete is being poured today (5/13/26) and will need to be cured for seven (7) days before it reaches sufficient strength for truck traffic. The asphalt paving will follow, estimated to begin on May 21st or 22nd. Protective bollards will also be installed at bay door entrances, near the propane tank, and on the south side of the station to protect the exterior electrical panels for the station. It’s presently estimated we will move crews and equipment back into the station following the Memorial Day Holiday weekend.
