Part Time Firefighters Hired by Llano County ESD #5

Chief Patrick Cates, Sunrise Beach Fire Department / Llano County ESD #5, has hired 14 part time employees to provide enhanced fire and emergency medical first response coverage within the District. Beginning October 1st, two career firefighters will be on duty daily from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M., covering the day shift. The new personnel are credentialed by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as career firefighters / EMT’s.  Several are presently credentialed by Hamilton EMS to provide EMT level first responder skills on emergency medical responses, and all are working on EMT level credentialing. The volunteers with the Sunrise Beach VFD will continue to respond both during the day and will provide primary coverage from 7:00 P.M to 7:00 A.M.
